My neighbors have a Toyota Corolla E90 and a Geo Prizm Sedan. They bought them both new, I don't know why I didn't post this earlier. Its kinda strange, they basically bought two nearly identical cars new.

It was so they could have reliable DDs for when their Supra hidden in the garage breaks down, right!?

My guess is the Geo was just a better deal when they were looking for a second Corolla , or they bought the Geo liked it but wanted something a little nicer

Neighbors down the street have 3 2008 civic sedans. Identical other than color. I asked them what was up. Turned out the wife's first gen Odyssey was dying and they didn't need it for the kids any longer so she bought one. They loved the car and then when the husband's Ranger was totalled a couple months later they picked up another. Then the daughter got a used one a couple years later as a graduation gift. She still lives at home and goes to college locally.
I suppose it makes sense to them as appliance drivers...it's comfy enough, gets decent mileage and they have a good relationship with a shop that's familiar with them...it's really a foreign thought process for me though.

They're not nearly as identical as they they appear.
